Book Signings
Dean appeared for a book signing for "The Taking" on Sunday, June 6, 2004, from
2:30 to 7:00 pm at the Book Carnival in Orange, CA.

Latest Books:

"The Taking" was released on May 25, 2004.
Dean's latest novel "Odd Thomas" was released on December 9, 2003.
Dean's last novel "The Face" was released on May 27th 2003.

What's Next:
Dean's next book "Life Expectancy " is set to be released on December 7th.

Sometime soon, (next year?) we hope to see "Ride The Storm," a third novel in the Christopher Snow series! (first was Fear Nothing then Seize the Night.) Dean has said that he's still working on it, but does not yet have a completion date.

Latest Movie:
USA is set to air Frankenstien based on characters created by Dean Koont in October: http://www.usanetwork.com/movies/frankenstein/index.html

The Fox network aired "Black River" on July 6th, 2001. The mini series was based on Dean's novella "Black River" that appeared in Mystery Scene magazine. The cast included: Jay Mohr, Lisa Edelstein, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ann Cusack, Patricia Drake, Ron Canada, Ty Olsson, Scott Hylands, Bill Dow, Paul Batten, Dion Luther, Benita Ha, Frank C. Turner.

Fox also re-aired the Mini Series of Sole Survivor on July 4th & 5th 2001. The original airdate was Sept. 13th & 14th of 2000. The cast included: Billy Zane, John McGinley, and Gloria Reuben. It has not yet been released on video or DVD.

The Book of Counted Sorrows:
The Book of Counted SorrowsEver wondered where that book of poetry is that Dean always quotes from in his novels? All of the quotes from the Book of Counted Sorrows are Dean's own poetry. Until a few months ago, it didn't even exist! Dean said in an interview that he receives thousands of letters a year asking what this book is, and that many librarians had been frustrated searching for the nonexistent book.

Now, finally, the long awaited "Book of Counted Sorrows" is available! It is only available for download at BarnesandNoble.com . Click on the image to the left for more information, and read the first chapter introduction by Dean himself!
